Gareth Pugh Fall 2007 Collection

London’s showman of the moment was in a dark mood, conjuring the spirit of an S&M den.

Gareth Pugh fashioned minidresses from plastic and leather strips, used real human hair for the fringe on other dresses and swathed his creepy-looking, pale-faced male models in plastic capes and raincoats.

On a brighter note, he also sent out neat black wool coats with patent leather quilting down the front, and sprinkled bits of patent leather over his knits and sheared mink coats.

He’s also gearing up to sell his first collection. “We’re going to be taking orders in Paris — all guns blazing — and want to sell as much as we can,” said Pugh, whose line will be manufactured with help from designer Rick Owens and his wife, Michele Lamy.
